Black-Haired Beauty

This was one of three portraits painted for Cold Ray Permanent Wave

hair products advertisements in 1941, shortly after Vargas began working

for Esquire magazine. Those ads are featured in Varga, the Esquire years,

page 170, along with a brief background history. This beautiful and enchanting

piece (see detail) is in nearly perfect condition and very elegantly framed.

The painting measures 17 1/2" w. x 21" h. (34 1/4" w. x 37 3/4" h. framed).

A certificate of authenticity is included.
